“Summertime” by Faith In Foxholes

Faith In Foxholes,  the renowned artist known for his melodic vocals and harmonies, returns with a brand new EP. Based in New Mexico, Lucas Floyd creates five new stunning tracks emphasizing harmonic structures, centered with themes of death, love, and loss. His latest EP, Red, contains amazing fresh, catchy, and groovy songs. The third track, Summertime, is an example of a melodic bittersweet simple song that talks about the dreadful feeling of death.

The song begins with a simple combination of straightforward acoustic guitar and vocals. The guitar plays a catchy melody through repeatedly plucked notes that rise up and down through chord progressions. This is accompanied well by the vocals from Lucas, which is perfect for a fast-paced rhythm. Another thing to note from the lyrics of his works is its symbolization and imagery, allowing listeners to think deeply while enjoying the quality of music. The song dynamically changes as it progresses, adding small details such as piano and strings. However, halfway into the song, the tune transforms into a beautiful headbanging anthem filled with soulful screams, mellow harmonizations, and a dancy beat. This eventually slows down and transitions into the simple fingerstyle acoustic guitar rhythm. The song ends with a closing instrumental melody of electric guitars, synths, bass, drums, and piano. This catchy instrumental section is one of the artist’s signature styles, keeping audiences interested as the track progresses and dynamically changes. Check out the other melodic tunes, with titles such as Come on Home and Zander, and more.
