On “Adufẹ”, Boysarm to serenades a lover and expresses his intentions

Boysarm’s lover, “Adufẹ”, holds his heart in her hands, now he’s pleading for her hand in marriage.

Boysarm, born Akolade Samuel Oluwadamilare, found his passion for music during his childhood in Lagos, a city that greatly influenced his creative journey. Now a student at the University of Lagos, he adeptly juggles his studies with his burgeoning career in music.

This song is a follow up to “Away (One Call)” , his earlier single released late last year. On “Away (One Call)”, he sings that he’s been calling his lover, whose name he doesn’t mention. Based on this new single, “Adufẹ”, we can say that’s his lover’s name.

Far from the planned romantic adventure of “Away (One Call)”, where Boysarm sings that he is on holiday and wants to rendezvous with his girlfriend, perhaps in one of the luxurious places in Lagos, here he is begging her to stay with him forever.

“Me and you forever, baby / Kosi oun to lè ya wà (nothing can separate us),” he confesses, adding that he would like to follow her home to meet her parents. He also promises to be her umbrella when it’s raining. No, he isn’t talking about the actual rain but difficulties. What a lover boy he is.

The beat is typically Afrobeats. It begins with a gentle guitar, followed by lightheaded shekere, and a soothing thud of a drum. The calmness of the beat gives room for Boysarm to serenade “Adufe”, expressing his intentions for her.

Loosely translated, “Adufẹ” means “one that many people want to date, marry, or love”. Boysarm can’t wait to marry Adufẹ and live together, forever with her.
